Fun Fall Lunch

We had a very full weekend with lots of fall traditions.  We did our annual trek up to McConnell's Mill State Park and had a blast running around and piling up leaves, then jumping in the leaves.  We got some great photos for our memory book.  Then, we went to Brown's Country Kitchen (a little hole in the wall joint with awesome food) for some lunch and homemade pie.  Finally, we stopped at Baldinger's Candy store on the way home.  We let the kids each pick out 10 pieces of candy since Halloween is right around the corner.  If you are interested in checking these places out, I have more details about them in this post.
Our main entree is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich that has been cut into leaf shapes to reminisce about our fun weekend.

Our vegetable side is cucumbers and carrots.

Our fruit side is strawberries and pomegranate arils.

Finally, our dairy/dessert is Very Berry Chobani Champions Greek yogurt.

  1. Love it! My boyfriend is literally cleaning out a pomegranate as I type and I tried my first taste of an actual pomegranate! Different than I imagined, but good. Did your kids like them from the get go? And by the way, still amazed your kids eat cucumbers! Can't get mine near one! :)

    Happy Packing!

    1. We ♥ pomegranates. I like the crunchy sweetness and the kids just think that they are fun. They were all very receptive to pomegranates from the get go. Give your little one some time. Her tastes may change. :)
Show the BF this post on how to get the seeds out of the pomegranate without the mess. http://mollyslunchbox.blogspot.com/2010/12/merry-monday.html
